Especially the Observatory area. We stayed only 1 night for a flight lay over. In the morning we had some extra time and visited Dockweiler Beach. Really great way to decompress and appreciate the oceanfront. We used Doordash extensively for all the meals since we did not want to dine out during Covid.
Service was fast, lots of choice to pick from. Great way to experience LA food variety. Los Angeles wasn't what I expected it overrated. I couldn't find any good food to eat. Santa Monica Beach was nice and beautiful a lot of walking a lot of homeless people laying around. LA doesn't have a lot of scenery for pictures taking. Went to Disney Land and it was a lot of walking. No trolley to take you from parking lot to park the walk is over 1 mile. The City Walk is beautiful place but very expensive.
It was alright but I don't have to come back unless it a game at the Staples. Only went to LA to attend a concert at the Greek Theater and didn't want to drive home 2 hours away , however, the hotel accommodations were not to my satisfaction so we drove home after all.
Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I wish I wouldn't have ignored all of the red flags when booking this reservation. I booked a 3 bedroom suite for two days. After I completed booking the reservation and sending all my information, I didn't hear back from anyone until the day before our stay. We had no check- in instructions, payment or anything solidified, which was very frustrating. I called, left voicemails and sent emails and maybe got two very vague and short responses.
They gave us a two bedroom apartment with a double bed to accommodate us. Not one person answered our calls that day we tried to call them. We were stuck in a location which was less than what we paid and not what we wanted once so ever. Not only was the overall process very frustrating, but both locations were dirty and the toilets did not flush. We found a condom wrapper in the bathtub as well as hand marks on the walls. This company made the trip and booking process very stressful and left the impression that you were getting scammed the whole time.
They are now ignoring my emails, calls and texts regarding the credit. You are never able to talk to someone or will have to wait days or weeks to get a response. Stay away from this rental company by all means. The hotel was clean and offered transportation to the airport. The pool was to cold to swim in. Also no microwave in room. Next time I will opt for holiday in express. This hotel is a great deal being situated in West Hollywood and close to everything.
It has a minimalist-retro vibe which I appreciate. No frills, but modern, clean and consistent. The bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and functional. The Swingers diner is next door which makes it easy to get breakfast and coffee in the morning.
In general the neighborhood is accessible and has great eats close by. I stayed for over a week which made the microwave and refrigerator essential! Overall, the Beverly Laurel is a must-stay. We stayed in the Roosevelt suite with children and we had to work using zoom etc. Internet was speedy and the room was incredibly comfortable and spacious.
We really appreciated the level of cleanliness and the adherence to precautions the staff took. There is a CVS across the street for any small grocery needs. Room service was delicious! We love the Magic Castle Hotel. My son loves it all and so do we. The hotel attracts the best guests to share this experience with. We can't wait to for our next staycation.
