I worked at the outcare center. So the work life was very light. I mean I literally sat in a room all day and talked and socialized with my co-workers and the patients. The environment was very easy and laid back. The management team was pretty good overall. We had Christmas parties and the overall feel was laid back. A typical day was just monitoring the patients behavior and taking and recording vitals.

I mean a very easy laid back job. Once a week you had to go deliver mail and laundry to the hospital in the company provided car. The only thing that is a drawback is advancement and placement of the company. I have a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and I was a Tech but they had a another employee working as a coordinator and this person didn't have any degree and they weren't in school at all.

We were hired at the same time. I felt like I should have been in that position because it required a 4 year degree. They only got the position because they knew someone in the company. That's the only drawback but that's a huge drawback for me. I don't like companies that don't review your qualifications to see what job would be best for the role. Pros friendly staff, not a heavy work life, easy job.

Cons pay and advancement in the company. Intracare is a small mental health hospital, it is very old and outdated. Management and staff are very helpful and friendly. As a psych tech you will be doing a lot of extra work depending on the people that you work with. Depending on what floor you work, 3rd floor with adults is really calm and is the ideal place to work. The pay is also not that good considering the amount of work that you have to do. Unless you really need this job then do it, if not look somewhere else.

Pros Staff is friendly, flexible schedule. Cons low pay, stressful. Yes There are 2 helpful reviews 2 No. Administration tends to lend a bling eye to certain situations, especially when they are not convenient for them.

Certain departments have people who truly care, but those who do not make it very clear. Some are good at speaking to you in a way that makes you feel valuable as for you to remain working there all the while nothing is being done to secure advancement.

They will hire you if your intentions are good, and they do care about their patients. It is not worth the pay or the hassle. Pros They care about their patients. Share your experience Let job seekers know what it's like to work at your company. IntraCare has some really great people working there but equally, if not more awful people there. My supervisor was supportive but many of the therapists there gossiped about each other and spoke extremely negatively of clients.

It was a toxic environment. Children and teens were given injection to calm and forced to be in isolation for behaviors that are typical for that age and could have been regulated with verbal de-escalation tactics.

Client pronouns were not respected and more than once, clients' were outed. Staff would refer to transgender clients as "it" when out of earshot of them. Many staff were manipulative, smiling to your face but going off about you as soon as you walked out the door. It was an interesting job to say the least. Any psychiatric hospital that requires direct contact with it's patients are the reason why no two days are the same.

A good job for someone seeking stability and security. My supervisor did not even have a computer in his office and all notes and assessments were done online. My manager had never done an evaluation. No idea what I did or what I was talking about. It was my first psych experience and it made me make up my mind to remain in the psych field. They had well trained and experienced psychiatrists, good nurses to work with.

Recording and charting is electronic which made it easy, neat and fast. The management was superior. The coprporate culture was not very welcoming. There was a lot og gossiping; sometimes cruel.
